The Heritage Museum is pleased to open its newest exhibit Memories of Mexican Schools. Memories is an interactive exhibit that shares stories as told by Hispanic Americans who experienced school desegregation as children in the years prior to 1945. Accompanied with the listening station are photographs of segregated schools that were in Orange County in the early part of the 20th century, as well as photographs of children in class. It is a unique exhibit that brings to life the underlying truth that segregation was as much an issue in Orange County as it was in many other parts of the United States.
The exhibit will be open from December 7, 2012 to September 8, 2013 and is on loan to the Heritage Museum of Orange County courtesy of the Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL).
