Hummingbird Lovers Overflow the Nest

There was standing room only in and around the Heritage Museum Quilter’s Cottage on Sunday, May 15, as some 50 guests braved the wet weather to hear hummingbird expert Monique Rea speak about these lovable “jewels of nature.” The packed house was due to the rainy morning, which forced the talk indoors from the originally-planned garden venue.
A big “Thank-You” goes out to Monique Rea for providing such a wonderful program. We also want to thank those who attended and hope that they will join us again soon.
In the Garden Program Series
Hummingbirds: Jewels of Nature was the first of Heritage Museum’s new In the Garden program series. Programs are free to the public, and reservations are not necessary.
The next program, Gardens for Small Spaces, to be presented by the UCCE Master Gardeners, will be on Sunday, July 24 at 1:00 pm. As described on the Master Gardeners web site:
Gardens for Small Spaces
No space to garden? You’ll be amazed at what you can grow in even the smallest spaces. Create a year round, no fuss vegetable or herb garden or a place to grow your favorite flowers. This presentation by the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Master Gardeners of Orange County provides information on various techniques to maximize your garden space and productivity.
Be sure to mark this date on your calendar!
