Volunteer

We would be honored to have you join Heritage Museum of Orange County. The opportunities are plenty, regardless of motive or talent and skills. If you are looking for community service hours, a service project for your organization, an internship, or simply an opportunity to help a worthy cause, please give us a call. Members of youth groups and other young volunteers are welcome with appropriate adult guidance.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Heritage Music Festival Planning Committee 2013

It’s time to begin planning the 3rd Annual Heritage Music Festival to be held on June 1, 2013. You’ll be part of a fun and efficient group of leaders creating an amazing event. Our current volunteer needs include:  Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media, Logistics Manager, Vendor and Concessions acquisition, Antique Car Show Manager, VIP and Green Room Hosts, Ticket Sales, securing of Sponsors, uncovering creative In-kind Donations, show Production Staff, sign design and posting, Volunteer Coordinator and more!
On site meetings are minimal. Most meetings are by teleconference.

Museum Ambassador

Share information about the Museum as a field trip destination and the many programs and events the Museum provides to educators. Represent the Museum at community events and Museum Programs.

Museum Docent

Assist Program Instructors with the implementation and coordination of hands-on educational tours.

Facilities Maintenance

  • Landscape Management: weeding, sweeping, trash pick up
  • Orange Grove Management: picking up dropped fruit, watering trees
  • Kellogg House: general housekeeping

Archival Assistant

Assist Curator in cataloging our Museum Collection of 19th and early 20th-century historic artifacts. Tasks include data entry, photography, research and maintenance of items.

Gardening

Watering, weeding, planting, harvesting produce from our garden.

Educational Programs Assistance

Help maintain the Kellogg House Carriage Barn and Quilter’s Cottage with general housekeeping. Inventory supplies; wash and repair children’s costumes; create new children’s costumes.
