SUMMARY:HMOC x SAUSD Collaborative School Quilt Project Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:🤗🧵Our hearts are “SEW” full! 397 students were able to visit HMOC and take part in our collaborative quilt project through the Artist Grant sponsored by the @cityofsantaana ! HMOC and Santa Ana Unified Schools teamed up on this very special project to work with the elementary school kids on a Friendship Quilt representing their schools and the students! \nThe completed quilt created from the quilt squares that the students from MLK\, Diamond\, Lowell\, Roosevelt-Walker\, and Carl Harvey elementary schools with @santaanausd made will be on exhibit through the summer available to view by Museum visitors during Open House dates on 6/21\, 7/5 & 7/19\, 8/2 & 8/16. 🙌

(Well\, in the Carriage Barn 😉) \n🤗As part of our Community Stories special guest speaker program included during this Sunday’s HMOC Open House paid admission Gabe Verduzco will be giving a FREE program on “Oaks – Past\, Present\, and Preserving Their Future”. \n🌳Discover more about this keystone species vital to Indigenous communities\, wildlife\, urban forests\, and natural landscapes and how they play a critical ecological and cultural role. To preserve their resiliency\, we must first understand their connection to our original land stewards\, current primary drivers of oak decline\, and then implement actionable solutions. \n🗣️Gabe is a lifelong plant professional\, ISA Certified Arborist\, native plant enthusiast\, and is passionate about stewarding our land\, preserving our tree canopy! \nCome talk trees and then visit the rest of the HMOC 12 acre grounds including the historic 1898 Kellogg House! all included in your Open House admission paid at the gate!
