HMOC Visitor Policies

HMOC is a pet friendly property for all of our Public events and weddings and we welcome you to bring your furry (and other skinned) family members to visit, provided they are well mannered and remain leashed and under your control at all times.  Special ticketed events and private events may have their own pet policies.  Please confirm prior to your arrival.

Parking for cars is free in the main lot (between HMOC and Mitchell Fundamental) for select events. Spaces are extremely limited, so we encourage carpooling. Street parking is available in select zones; please check all parking signs carefully, HMOC is not liable for parking tickets or towed vehicles.

No bus or car parking will be allowed for any amount of time in the HMOC employee/bus driveway; this is a fire and emergency vehicle access lane and violators will be towed if they cannot be found to move their car immediately.

HMOC makes every effort to be as accessible as possible for all, however we are faced with certain restrictions based on our location and historic buildings.

The Museum property is almost 12 acres and much of it is natural area with varied terrain such as dirt, gravel, mulch, wood chips, etc that may be difficult for persons utilizing wheelchairs.  The areas surrounding the main historic courtyard and wedding pavilion/gazebo are paved with ramps where possible, but the main thoroughfare between buildings is a hard packed dirt that can be muddy after rains.  The historic Kellogg House has a wheelchair ramp leading to the front door, but the 2nd floor is only accessible via a set of stairs.

If you have specific concerns or questions please reach out to us at or on your favorite social sites @HeritageMusOC so we may help you plan your visit accordingly.
